Ambitious
Caring
Excellence
One of our priorities as a school is working closely with the community. It’s wonderful to see community groups, including the Gym Club, Shelford & Stapleford Strikers, 1st Stapleford Brownies, Stapleford Choral Society, the Umbrella Big Band and the Chestnut Club Choir, using the school field and facilities throughout the year.
We are fortunate to have an amazing Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and strong support from our village communities at events such as the annual fun run on Magog Down (http://staplefordrun.com/), Quiz Nights, our Christmas Gift Fair and our summer fete. The school also enjoys participating in community events such as the Stapleford Village Weekend. You will also spot pupils and staff on learning walks through the village, learning about local history and geography.
Many governors in our local governing body are members of the local community, and we also work with local residents as volunteers in school, for example in our bridge-building project. We are always keen to hear from anyone who would like to get involved in school life – from contributing your financial, management or educational expertise as a school governor, to sharing your gardening, engineering, or crafting skills with children at lunchtimes, or talking to pupils about different careers. If you would like to get involved in any way, please email office@staplefordprimaryschool.org.
Safeguarding our children is our number one priority, and any community volunteers working with children, or groups using school facilities during school hours, require a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. It is simple to arrange this check via the school office.
