Welcome to the Elm Class page!
Welcome to Reception Elm Class. On this page you will find information about how we organise teaching and learning in our reception class at Stapleford and see highlights, through photos and updates of what we have been doing.
We have one Reception class at Stapleford with a maximum of 30 children the class. We currently have a few places available so if you would like a place or would like to visit the school please contact the school office to arrange your visit, we would love to meet you.

In the Early Years Foundation Stage children learn through practical first hand learning experiences, meaningful interactions with others, physical activity and play. The Early Years curriculum emphasises three Prime Areas of learning:

Teaching in reception is organised through a range of approaches involving whole class, small group, guided focused groups and child initiated (Busy Learning).
